If you're looking for a competitively priced small crossover that doesn't skimp on technology or safety features, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax is certainly one to consider. I WOULD LOVE TO SUE GM AND ENSURE A RECALL PEOPLE DESERVE SAFETY AND PEACE OF MIND. You could lose steering at any point! The GM dealership service department told me they get MANY repairs for the steering gear in chevy trax and people are "lucky" to have the second repair within the warranty. Be AWARE if you hear loud noises when steering or shifting out of park this is the stripped steering gear and you should not drive it. But, I feel the manufacturer just produced a vehicle that is mechanically flawed and gave a bandaid solution during the warranty instead of fixing the mechanical engineering problem. It was under warranty so I didn't recognize and they didn't indicate to me how serious this was! This year the steering gear stripped again in less time only 2 years and GM will not replace the part that was faulty even though the initial claim occurred during the warranty. … My warranty ended July 14 2020. I bought my car in 2015 and in 2018 experienced steering issues they replaced 2 steering gears and other pieces. She’s great for big cities since it fits in compact spaces and the gas mileage is awesome. I drove it across the country the first month and since driven it up the West coast and back and eastward and back. I bought it will 4 miles it now has 52000. BUT other than those electrical issues in the last three years, the car is great. It’s time for an other oil change, so hopefully they can figure out this electrical issue again. so not sure there) then 3mo later, my compass and Bluetooth microphone have stopped working again and the security light was on for a day, but is off now. but there was still fluid dripping onto my garage floor. Then recently I took my car in for an oil change and possible transmission leak (which they said wasn’t leaking. I’ve had a few issues with the car electricly, issue where the radio wouldnt turn off which would kill my car battery then my car … microphone wouldn’t work for Bluetooth or on star. It is impossible to fit three kids in the back with two booster and one full car seat. But once I met my boyfriend who has two kiddos it was a tight fit. This is a pretty great car if your single or young adult. ![]()
